The software automatically creates the proper surgical guide osteotomy holes, at the correct angle and location for the new implant systems, removing the need for the user to enter values or perform calculations in the majority of situations. Blue Sky Plan now includes NEW improved functionality to create a window in your surgical guide. The improved functionality allows a user to increase visibility, and ensure proper seating of the surgical guide in the patient's mouth by creating a window opening in the surgical guide, while maintaining a 'closed' STL file ready for printing. Once the surgical has been fabricated in the Blue Sky Plan software the user can indicate the exact size and location of where the window should be created. The software will then recreate the surgical guide with the window in the designated locations. Multiple windows can be created in the surgical guide.

Blue Sky Plan now includes two free surgical guide exports for new users. What does this mean? It means that if you are a new Blue Sky Plan user, after you download, install and activate the software, software will automatically allow you to export to surgical guide cases at no cost. It means that you can treatment plan and design surgical guides for two patients and export them to an STL file for 3D printing at no cost. We recently had the privilege of hearing a fantastic educational webinar from Dr Michael Scherer on the topic of 'Avoiding Rookie Problems During Guided Surgery and Implant Placement'. Recently, the 'Impression Inversion with Markers' protocol was added to the Blue Sky Plan Software, and Wizard Process Flow. Why is this important? It is important because it creates the most consistent and most accurate Guided Surgical Protocol and it can be done only with a CT scanner. No optical scan necessary. Adding markers to impression tray ensures an accurate merge even if the patient has restored dentition that may cause scatter during the CT Scan. Blue Sky Plan for Guided Surgery has a new friend Blue Sky Ortho Plan. Dr Baron Grutter introduced Blue Sky Ortho Plan to the world this past week, with a public educational webinar followed by a live course a few days later. Blue Sky Bio has been working continuously to improve the functionality and capabilities of the Blue Sky Plan Software. At the same time we have been working on simplifying the main functionalities of the software to help users quickly and easily treatment plan and design surgical guides. As such, we have created the WIZARD process flow that takes the user through a step by step process flow for treatment planning and creating a surgical guide for 1-3 implant cases (thats 'old' news). In addition we are starting to put in place new educational initiatives that will help a user learn Blue Sky Plan very easily and quickly, on their own time, and on their own schedule. The first step in this process is launching a Step by Step process flow using a patient CT Scan together with an STL / optical scan of a stone model.
